The AcerBand is a cooperation between AoB fans from all over the world and ex
Mega executive Claes Cornelius. The project started in early 2007 where acers
submitted their lyrics and songs to The AceBoards and users voted for the best:
as result "Wonderful Morning" by Michael Russo and "Tides" by James Moreno won
the Best Lyric and Best Song each. Unfortunately, the later mentioned was
removed from the project due to copyright troubles.
However, 14 other songs made it to the project too with the help of Claes, and
in some songs, of danish singer Helle Zarp. All of them, ranging from pop,
pop/reggae and ballad to techno, dance and even rock! As a result, a variety of
different types of songs from Acers as a tribute for AoB for all these years of
making great music, in the form a CD labeled as "AcerBand: Creative Acers 2007".
SOME WORDS BY CLAES
When Ace Of Base conquered the World with "All That She
Wants", "The Sign" etc., I immediately noticed how active and creative their
fans were. They had a poll about naming themselves and came up with "Acers",
with at least a dozen fan homepages in its wake. Some of these Acers were also
musically endowed - playing some instrument, writing lyrics or music and also
being graphic artists in search of a CD cover or band logo to create.
At the end of 2006, a new and half-crazy idea came up: why
not create an AcerBand? I caught that AcerBand bug, too!
But... you'd probably suppose that the AcerBand clones the Ace Of Base Pop /
Reggae sound to the bone - not so!

There's a very wide variety of styles
represented by now, from Techno all the way to heavier shades of Rock. All
entries were then subjected to an Acers' voting poll and the winners will have
their songs officially presented to Ace Of Base's publishing company
Megasong (now acquired by Warner Bros. Music Publishing) and of course Ace Of
Base themselves.
Working at Mega Records and Megasong Publishing, I was along for the whole ride
until Mega / Megasong was sold at the start of the new Millennium, but kept in
touch with Acers since then. In fact, I have many friends whom I regularly
correspond with, and that also why I got involved in this project.
